Meaning and Motivation

Synopsis
People want meaning and satisfaction. Organizations want performance and productivity. The meeting place of these two seemingly disparate desires is neither far-away nor magical. The intersection of fulfillment for people and organizations is quite simply in an alignment of their respective values.
Values are an expression of what we hold as important, significant, and meaningful. When we know what our values are, and what attitudes and behaviors best express them, we are able to act with focus, purpose, and energy. Without a clear understanding of our values, we are like lost ships in a desperate sea: drifting without hope, working without passion, living without enthusiasm.

This talk focuses on a simple, practical, and profound way for individuals to reconnect with their core values. Using The Meaning and Motivation Workbook as a guide, people will be able to deepen their self-awareness of what is meaningful to them. In facilitated exercises, using mind-mapping, visualization, and discussion, people will be able to convert their values to personal motivation and responsibility for their own performance, satisfaction, and effectiveness.

Target Audience
Managers and teams looking to create a sustainable work culture in which people contribute their best effort through self-motivation.
